The Verdict Is In – Efficacy of Continuous Alcohol Monitoring, Evidentiary Standards, and the Burden of Proof

December 15, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Treatment courts are designed around the goal of guiding clients on the road to recovery and breaking the cycle of addiction. There are many alcohol testing methodologies used to help achieve this mission. Continuous alcohol monitoring is the method that brings to the table the largest body of peer reviewed research and decades of court-validated hearings.

This webinar is designed to inform and educate key treatment court professionals (including coordinators, judges, prosecutors, public defenders, law enforcement, probation, and others) about the role continuous alcohol monitoring plays in supporting the journey of alcohol-involved treatment court participants.

The Honorable Greg Pinski’s unique qualifications as a retired District Court Judge for the State of Montana will enable him to guide attendees through key legal standards and court rulings that impact the use of continuous alcohol monitoring in treatment courts. He will be joined by Lisa Kennedy, Director of Judicial Services for SCRAM Systems, who will discuss court admissibility and reporting standards, common defenses, and the science behind transdermal alcohol testing technology.
