This document is an evaluation of the process, outcome and cost results from the Bexar County Felony Drug Court (BCFDC). The process study included an examination of BCFDC practices in relation to the 10 Key Component of drug court and recommendations for enhancements to the program to meet research based best practices results. The outcome evaluation included a criminal justice recidivism study comparing outcomes for drug court participants to a matched group of offenders who were eligible for the program but did not participate. Outcomes were examined for up to 3 years after drug court entry. The cost evaluation was a cost-benefit analysis that calculated the cost of the program and the costs of participant and comparison group criminal justice related outcomes including re-arrests, court cases, time on probation, in jail and in prison.
