This evaluation of the Anne Arundel County Juvenile Treatment Court examines the effectiveness and strategies of the costs, court model, and outcomes. This study showed benefits of the program for Treatment Court participants, compared to youth who had similar demographic characteristics and criminal histories but who did not participate in Treatment Court. In addition, as seen through the data collection methodology, there was a lack of available data on adult arrests, which can be seen in the follow-up periods for many youth being limited because of their ages, but the data showed promising results in terms of the re-arrest rates of juveniles following graduation from the program. Despite the slightly higher cost of utilizing this program versus a comparison program, the report shows that there are benefit that will help high-risk and high-need youth in the future.
